How to respond to the EHRC consultation

Good Law Project has taken advice from a leading public law King’s Counsel on how to respond to the EHRC’s consultation. What follows is a form which, after you complete it, will automatically be sent to the EHRC. We’d love to stay in contact with you about the further work we have planned to tackle the consequences of the appalling Supreme Court decision - so please do tick the box which allows us to do that.

The EHRC consultation focuses on its belief that it is right to exclude women and men who are trans from women and men’s groups and spaces. Our advice is that in responding you should focus on describing what difference this belief will make to your life or the lives of those you represent.

Perhaps you are trans and you are worried about having to out yourself by using the wrong space. Perhaps you don’t look like a male or female archetype and are worried about being challenged. Perhaps you are a club and hate the idea of having to exclude people because they are trans.  But it’s not for us to tell you what the EHRC’s belief means for you - we’d just like to help you tell them.
